i think so. there is a queue limit to how many things can queue up... checking...
looks like 100. but that (i *think*) can be sort of worked around by selecting 100 files at once, submitting (watch them upload), select another 100 files, submit (watch them upload), etc...
however, i do want to caution that once you add up all our derivatives (where applicable and the source files allow and can make derivatives) (usually about 2-4 or so per original file) plus the original files, that our system can start getting a bit taxed (hello wonders of XML 8-) ). i've generally cautioned that 1000 or more files in an item is going to start making that item serve noticeably slower. so you *may* want to consider breaking large numbers of files up into a bunch of items.
1100 prolly is ok, but once you add the derivatives (if they derive), we're now talking 2200-3300 files in the item. if the files are audio (those are small by our standards) you can try it out and see how the page loading goes, etc.
we've had some absurd items with 20k files in them, and they often just spin the "waiting" icon for a long time and then don't serve at all. anyway, just thought some boundary cases that i've observed may be helpful...
